Social Security in 2026 Begins: Monthly Contribution Rises by 875 Baht, What Additional Benefits Are Included?

In 2026, social security payments will increase by 875 baht per month. What additional benefits will this bring compared to the previous 750 baht per month for those earning 17,500 baht or more?

Information from the Consumer Organizations Council states that in 2026, social security will raise the contribution from 750 baht to 875 baht per month for those with a salary of 17,500 baht or more. The social security system will increase the wage ceiling for insured persons under Section 33, starting phase 1 from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2028.

For insured persons with a wage base of 15,000 baht paying the maximum contribution of 750 baht per month, benefits include: sickness allowance of 7,500 baht per month (250 baht per day, up to 180 days, totaling 45,000 baht); maternity allowance of 22,500 baht per birth; disability allowance of 7,500 baht per month; death benefit of 90,000 baht; unemployment compensation of 7,500 baht per month; and pension of 3,000 to 5,250 baht per month depending on contribution years—3,000 baht for 15 years and 5,250 baht for 25 years of contributions.


Phase 1: Years 2026–2028

With the wage adjusted to 17,500 baht, the maximum contribution will be 875 baht per month. The increased compensation and pension benefits include:

  • Sickness compensation of 8,750 baht per month (291 baht per day, up to 180 days, totaling 52,500 baht).
  • Maternity benefit of 26,250 baht per birth.
  • Disability compensation of 8,750 baht per month.
  • Death benefit of 105,000 baht.
  • Unemployment compensation of 8,750 baht per month.
  • Pension benefits: 3,500 baht per month after 15 years of contributions, and 6,125 baht per month after 25 years of contributions.


Phase 2: Years 2029–2031


When wages adjust to 20,000 baht, the maximum contribution will be 1,000 baht per month. The increased compensation and pension benefits include:

  • Sickness compensation of 10,000 baht per month (333 baht per day, up to 180 days, totaling 60,000 baht).
  • Maternity benefit of 30,000 baht per birth.
  • Disability compensation of 10,000 baht per month.
  • Death benefit of 120,000 baht.
  • Unemployment compensation of 10,000 baht per month.
  • Pension benefits: 4,000 baht per month after 15 years of contributions, and 7,000 baht per month after 25 years of contributions.


Phase 3: Year 2032 onward

With wages adjusted to 23,000 baht, the maximum contribution will be 1,150 baht per month. The increased benefits include:

  • Sickness compensation of 11,500 baht per month (383 baht per day, up to 180 days, totaling 69,000 baht).
  • Maternity benefit of 34,500 baht per birth.
  • Disability compensation of 11,500 baht per month.
  • Death benefit of 138,000 baht.
  • Unemployment compensation of 11,500 baht per month.
  • Pension benefits: 4,600 baht per month after 15 years of contributions, and 8,050 baht per month after 25 years of contributions.
