Starting in 2026: Social Security Contributions Increase by 875 Baht per Month – What Additional Benefits Are Included?

Starting in 2026, social security contributions will increase by 875 baht per month. What additional benefits will be gained compared to the previous 750 baht per month for those earning 17,500 baht or more?

Data from the Consumer Organizations Council indicates that in 2026, social security contributions will rise from 750 baht to 875 baht per month for those with salaries of 17,500 baht or higher. The social security fund will raise the wage ceiling for insured persons under Section 33, starting with phase 1 from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2028.

For insured persons with a wage base of 15,000 baht who pay the maximum contribution of 750 baht per month, benefits include illness compensation of 7,500 baht per month (250 baht per day for up to 180 days, totaling 45,000 baht), childbirth allowance of 22,500 baht per occurrence, disability compensation of 7,500 baht per month, death benefits of 90,000 baht, unemployment compensation of 7,500 baht per month, and pension payments ranging from 3,000 to 5,250 baht per month depending on contribution years: 3,000 baht per month for 15 years of contributions, and 5,250 baht per month for 25 years.


Phase 1: Years 2026-2028

With the wage base adjusted to 17,500 baht, insured persons will pay a maximum contribution of 875 baht per month. The increased compensation and pension benefits include:

  • Illness compensation of 8,750 baht per month (291 baht per day for up to 180 days, totaling 52,500 baht).
  • Childbirth allowance of 26,250 baht per occurrence.
  • Disability compensation of 8,750 baht per month.
  • Death benefits of 105,000 baht.
  • Unemployment compensation of 8,750 baht per month.
  • Pension payments are 3,500 baht per month for 15 years of contributions, and 6,125 baht per month for 25 years.


Phase 2: Years 2029-2031


With the wage base adjusted to 20,000 baht, insured persons will pay a maximum contribution of 1,000 baht per month. The increased compensation and pension benefits include:

  • Illness compensation of 10,000 baht per month (333 baht per day for up to 180 days, totaling 60,000 baht).
  • Childbirth allowance of 30,000 baht per occurrence.
  • Disability compensation of 10,000 baht per month.
  • Death benefits of 120,000 baht.
  • Unemployment compensation of 10,000 baht per month.
  • Pension payments are 4,000 baht per month for 15 years of contributions, and 7,000 baht per month for 25 years.


Phase 3: From 2032 onwards

With the wage base adjusted to 23,000 baht, insured persons will pay a maximum contribution of 1,150 baht per month. The increased benefits include:

  • Illness compensation of 11,500 baht per month (383 baht per day for up to 180 days, totaling 69,000 baht).
  • Childbirth allowance of 34,500 baht per occurrence.
  • Disability compensation of 11,500 baht per month.
  • Death benefits of 138,000 baht.
  • Unemployment compensation of 11,500 baht per month.
  • Pension payments are 4,600 baht per month for 15 years of contributions, and 8,050 baht per month for 25 years.
