The World Knows, But Cambodia Doesnt: Unveiling a New Scam Hub in Malai, Just Under 5 km from Thailand

The entire world knows, but Cambodia seems unaware: a new scammer den has opened in Malai, less than 5 km from Thailand. Although the ringleader "Chen Zhi" was arrested, this hellish operation remains unshaken.

The Arrest “Chen Zhi” One of the big bosses of the international scammer network might seem like a major victory, but that is only "the tip of the iceberg." Because in reality, this hellish operation remains unaffected. Even with the ringleader arrested, the demonic cogs keep turning, defying state authority across borders.

SEE TRUE News Team On-site Monitoring Mission "Eastern Forces" Along the entire Khlong Nam Sai, the natural border between Thailand and Cambodia, the vital artery used by call center gangs and mule accounts to secretly cross into the scammer base, draining Thai victims.

Lt. Yutthana Buayai, Commander of the 1206th Ranger Company, revealed the border scammer situation after Chen Zhi's arrest, noting that while the scammer groups have decreased, many mule accounts are still being caught. The daily duty of the officers now involves patrolling by motorcycle, car, and on foot.

Information from Thai nationals who were deceived or willingly went to work in Cambodia shows that workers have been moved from Poipet to a construction site that is becoming a new complex in Malai district, Banteay Meanchey province. They wait there for facial scanning, and some are transferred to Phailin province. The scam methods and call center operations remain the same, only the location has changed.

"It is a new city. The construction site has become a scammer den. Interrogations of detainees revealed about 900 foreigners and over 100 Thais held as mule accounts,"

Currently, the water in Khlong Nam Sai has dried up, making it easier for human trafficking across the border. The target is Malai district, the new scammer base less than 5 km from the Thai border. Authorities have initially installed barbed wire fences to block crossings.

While SEE TRUE reporters patrolled with rangers, they encountered Cambodian residents living along the Thai border, suspected to be lookouts monitoring Thai military movements and relaying information to those planning to cross illegally.

The team patrolled again at night with officers, based on information that scammers often use darkness to evade detection. Despite this, arrests were still made. Night patrols revealed bright lights from the new scammer base in Cambodia.

Military personnel are fully defending to prevent benefits to the opposition. This criminal operation's evil extends beyond stealing from villagers’ accounts; it reflects actions by some Thais who value scammer money over their fellow countrymen's suffering, becoming a "national security threat." At the national level.

The upcoming election is a critical opportunity for everyone to decide. If dirty money infiltrates power games and buys votes, policies may become commodities, and ideals may be for sale.
