Bangkok Metropolitan Administration reports that more than 840,000 people have registered for early voting, including both out-of-district and in-district early voting, for the general election on Sunday, 1 Feb 2026. Preparations include venues, area management systems, and staff at central voting sites across all 50 districts to ensure orderly, lawful voting and full convenience for voters.
Mr. Narong Ruangsri, Bangkok Permanent Secretary, revealed that data from early voting registration shows a total of 844,672 people registered for out-of-district early voting (registration data from the Registration Administration Office system between 20 Dec 2025 and 5 Jan 2026). The top central early voting location with the highest registration in Bangkok is Bang Kapi District at the Tawanna Bang Kapi project (Tawanna 2) with 58,683 voters, followed by Chatuchak District at Chandrakasem Rajabhat University with 51,719, Lat Krabang District at the Lat Krabang District Office parking lot (temporary) with 38,548, Huai Khwang District at the Huai Khwang District Office building and tents with 32,419, and Din Daeng District at the Thai-Japanese Youth Center Sports Building 1–2 with 28,940.
Additionally, there are eight other central early voting locations with over 20,000 registrants each: Bang Sue, Bang Khun Thian, Lak Si, Bang Na, Wang Thonglang, Suan Luang, Pathum Wan, and Ratchathewi districts. The central location with the fewest registrants is Samphanthawong District with 2,305.
For in-district early voting, a total of 2,512 people have registered. The central locations with the highest in-district registrations are Don Mueang and Prawet Districts, each with 154 voters, followed by Suan Luang District with 150 and Bang Khun Thian District with 128.
The Bangkok Permanent Secretary added that the city has prepared information systems to support early voting and facilitate convenience. Citizens can check details of central voting locations, coordinate maps, travel options, public transportation systems, parking spots, and shuttle services.
Bangkok has also opened special ID card issuance services to support voting at all 50 district offices on 1 February, and 7–8 February 2026, from 08:00 to 17:00.
