Three major political parties competed in a vision debate to revive the country's economic future by jointly hosting the historic forum “Answering 8 Editors to Save the Thai Economic Titanic,” providing a platform for the three main parties to present their final visions before the election, seeking solutions to support the livelihoods of Thai people.
On 3 Feb 2026 GMT+7, the Public Broadcasting Service of Thailand (Thai PBS), together with national media partners, organized a major pre-election debate titled “Answering 8 Editors to Save the Thai Economic Titanic.” Representatives from key political parties included Dr. Kadee Liewpailo, Democrat Party prime ministerial candidate; Dr. Paopoom Rojanasakul, deputy party leader and economic team member of the Pheu Thai Party; and Sirikan Taansakul, People's Party prime ministerial candidate. They debated challenging questions posed by eight senior editors, demonstrating readiness to address the country's economic crisis at Thai PBS (Vibhavadi Rangsit Road).
This debate marks a historic event as the largest gathering of senior national media editors, including Somporn Klaewwichian (Matichon), Somkid Puttasri (The101.world), Noppatjak Attanon (Today), Nakarin Wankitpaiboon (The Standard), Nataya Waweereekup (Thai PBS), Phutthichat Jindawong (Thairath Online), Thapanee Iedsrichai (The Reporters), and Pawan Siriissaranan (PPTV). They posed in-depth questions covering all aspects of economic policy, from the broad macroeconomic level to drive GDP growth to the micro level addressing household debt. Karuna Buakamsri served as the debate moderator.
The forum also welcomed representatives from the private business sector and the public to present issues and ask questions, reflecting perspectives from those directly affected, including trade obstacles, small business adaptation, and the quality of life for grassroots citizens.
