On Chakri Day 2026, the Bureau of the Royal Household announces details for visiting the Grand Palace, Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram, and the opportunity to pay respects to the statue of King Rama I at Prasat Phra Thep Bidorn. This is in observance of King Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke the Great and the Chakri Dynasty Memorial Day on 6 April 2026, with the following details:


Schedule for visiting and paying respects on 6 April 2026

To ensure smooth visiting procedures, please check the opening and closing times of each venue as follows:

Ticket sales for entry: from 08:00 to 12:00.

Prasat Phra Thep Bidorn: open for paying respects to the statue of King Rama I from 08:00 to 12:00.

Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall: open for paying respects to the royal cremation of Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, from 08:00 to 11:00.


Dress code for paying respects

Visitors wishing to pay respects must strictly follow the dress code regulations to show respect and honor the venue:

For gentlemen

For ladies

Wear a shirt or a respectable long-sleeved top.

Wear a long-sleeved top that is not tight-fitting.

Wear long, formal trousers (jeans are prohibited).

Wear a skirt or traditional wrap that covers the knees.

Wear closed-toe shoes.

Wear closed-toe shoes.

Note: For paying respects at the royal cremation site in Dusit Maha Prasat, visitors must wear formal mourning attire.
