
Get ready for Songkran Festival 2026 with good news for families! Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (BEM) has announced an update expanding free MRT rides for children to help reduce living costs and promote family travel.
Previously set at a height limit of 90 cm, MRT has now revised the criteria to cover more children as follows:
Height limit extended: Children up to 120 centimeters tall can ride free (previously 90 cm).
Age condition: Children must be under 14 years old.
Children aged 7 years or younger still ride free with no height restrictions.
