
The Social Security Office has announced a major upgrade to dental benefits to help reduce expenses and promote broader access for insured persons to comprehensive oral health care services, effective from 1 May 2026 onward.
This benefit covers insured persons under Section 33 and Section 39. Key condition: contributions must be made for at least 3 months within the 15 months prior to the month of receiving services.
Insured persons can choose to use services at healthcare facilities contracted with the Social Security Office without having to advance payments, as follows:
1. When using services at "contracted public healthcare facilities"
Covered services include fillings, scaling, tooth extraction, and all types of wisdom tooth surgery.
Additional benefits include root planing and bone trimming to prepare the mouth for dentures.
Number of visits: unlimited (as medically necessary).
Cost: no additional fees (except for services at special clinics, which may charge extra doctor fees).
2. When using services at "contracted private healthcare facilities"
Fillings, scaling, and tooth extractions: total coverage up to 900 baht per year.
Wisdom tooth surgery: coverage ranges from 1,500 to 2,500 baht per tooth, with no additional cost to the insured person.
For insured persons who have lost teeth, medical service compensation details are as follows:
Removable dentures: from 1,500 to 6,000 baht depending on the number of teeth and type.
Denture repairs: 900 baht per session.
Dental implant placement (for total tooth loss): implant surgery fee is 17,500 baht.
Dental implant set fee: 3,300 baht.
Includes follow-up treatment fees under specified conditions.
Note: If denture or implant service costs exceed the specified rates, insured persons may incur additional out-of-pocket expenses.
No advance payment required when using contracted providers (both public and private).
If advance payment is necessary, reimbursement can be requested through the e-Self Service system on the Social Security Office website or by submitting a claim at any Social Security Office branch nationwide.
