Registration for the "Thai Chuey Thai Plus" project is set to begin from 25 to 29 May 2026 or until 30 million people have registered. Merchants who previously participated can confirm their eligibility through the Thung Ngern app. Be sure to check registration times carefully.
Mr. Winij Wisesuwanphoom, Director of the Fiscal Policy Office and spokesperson for the Ministry of Finance, revealed that on 19 May 2026, the Cabinet approved the "Thai Chuey Thai Plus" project to reduce the impact of the energy crisis, which has suddenly and severely affected people across all professions and businesses. The crisis is highly uncertain and likely to be prolonged. The project is funded through additional resources under the Royal Decree empowering the Ministry of Finance to borrow funds to address the energy crisis impact and facilitate the country’s energy transition in 2026.
In the short term, without timely support measures to stabilize the economy, there could be rapid contraction of economic activity, business closures, and increased unemployment.
The Thai Chuey Thai Plus project focuses on (1) assisting and alleviating impacts on vulnerable populations through the State Welfare Card mechanism and (2) easing living costs and supporting consumer purchasing power, as well as helping small traders continue their businesses to maintain national economic stability as an urgent and unavoidable necessity.
Registration period: 25 - 29 May 2026 (6:00 AM - 10:00 PM)
Benefit usage period: 1 June 2026 - 30 September 2026
Must be at least 18 years old on the registration date
Must hold a Thai national ID card
Must not have a State Welfare Card according to the Ministry of Finance database as of 18 May 2026
Must not be suspended from benefits or required to repay funds in the Khon La Khrueng phases 1-5 and Khon La Khrueng Plus programs
Financial support of up to 1,000 baht per person per month for 4 months, totaling a maximum of 4,000 baht throughout the program
Government supports 60%; citizens pay 40%
Maximum benefit of 200 baht per person per day
The Thai Chuey Thai Plus benefits can be used at participating merchants from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM, with payments made via G-Wallet
Food delivery spending is allowed from 15 June to 30 September 2026 (6:00 AM - 9:00 PM)
