Tracing Lawyer Tum from Famous Attorney to 5 Years 12 Months Prison Sentence

Once a high-profile lawyer in the spotlight who overturned major cases and appeared in the media nearly every day, today the name "Lawyer Tum" or Mr. Sittra Biebungkerd is inscribed as a defendant sentenced to prison in an epic fraud case involving a huge sum of money taken from a former close associate known as "Jae Aoy."  "Jae Aoy" is a nickname for a wealthy woman.

Today (11 June 2026), the Criminal Court on Ratchadaphisek Road scheduled a significant verdict hearing, marking the conclusion of a case that society has closely followed for over a year.

The Beginning: "Love" or "Deception"?

Looking back to the start, this case became the talk of the town when "Jae Aoy," a female billionaire worth eighteen trillion baht, exposed the behavior of her former close lawyer, claiming she was deceived into transferring huge sums of money multiple times. The major sums that triggered the dispute included:

An investment in an online lottery platform amounting to 71 million baht.

The price difference for purchasing a luxury Mercedes-Benz car totaling 13 million baht.

Payment to a Chinese artist (via Bitcoin) amounting to 39 million baht.

While "Jae Aoy" insisted she was defrauded and deceived, "Lawyer Tum" fought back with the claim—popular on social media at the time—that "the money was given out of affection." Lawyer Tum's confidence was evident in court when he chose to represent himself as his own defense lawyer and personally cross-examined the plaintiff's witnesses during the trial.

Aside from the criminal case, in the civil case, the Anti-Money Laundering Office resolved to seize and freeze three assets related to Lawyer Tum's misconduct: land with buildings and bank accounts, totaling over 71 million baht.

On the day of the verdict, the court ordered imprisonment along with compensation of 72.5 million baht.

At 9:00 a.m. on 11 June 2026, the special case prosecutor and "Jae Aoy" as co-plaintiff arrived to hear the verdict. The Criminal Court, after examining the evidence, found defendant number 1 guilty as charged.

The court sentenced "Lawyer Tum," defendant number 1, as follows:

For fraud, 4 years and 6 months in prison.

For violating the Computer Crime Act, 1 year and 6 months in prison.

Total imprisonment sentence of 5 years and 12 months.

Ordered defendant number 1 to compensate the co-plaintiffs by repaying 72,567,764 baht, along with other penalties.
