The Social Security Board election, overseeing a vast fund that supports over 12 million Thai lives, is entering another pivotal phase with the "Social Security Board Election 2026." This election will select 7 representatives from employers and 7 from insured persons to manage benefits and the direction of our savings.
To ensure no eligible voter misses their chance, the Social Security Office (SSO) has announced a positive extension of the registration deadline to 20 July 2026, up from the original 15 July. This extension aims to maximize participation from workers and businesses, with the key voting day scheduled for Sunday, 27 September 2026.
Voting in the Social Security Board election is not as simple as presenting an ID card at the polling station. All eligible voters must "register their intent" in advance.
Insured persons (Sections 33, 39, 40): Register online via the e-Self Service system on the website.www.sso.go.th
Or via the SSO Plus application, available 24 hours a day.
Employers (business establishments): Register online via the e-Service system on the website.www.sso.go.th
Note: If online registration is inconvenient, you may register in person at any Social Security Office branch nationwide, including Bangkok metropolitan and provincial offices.
Social Security election registration: To ensure smooth voting with no delays, prepare by following this checklist.
Step 1: Check your eligibility and polling location (starting 10 August 2026). From 10 August onward, log in to the Social Security Office website to verify your registration and identify your assigned polling station.
Step 2: Remember the candidate numbers you wish to vote for. This election uses "individual candidate voting," allowing you to select up to 7 candidates from your group (either a full team or a mix). Prepare by noting the candidate numbers of your preferred choices in advance.
Step 3: Prepare identification documents. On Sunday, 27 September 2026 (from 08:00 to 16:00), bring your national ID card or any government-issued photo ID with your personal ID number to your designated polling station for identity verification.
