Those who meet the eligibility criteria! To avoid losing benefits and to start receiving government assistance promptly, both "new" applicants receiving the card for the first time and "existing" holders who already have it must quickly complete the following important steps.
Those who have never had a state welfare card before or who have just qualified in this round must complete these three important steps.
Step 1: Identity verification (e-KYC). You must personally verify your identity at designated banks, including Krungthai Bank, Government Savings Bank, or the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC).
What to bring: the original national ID card (must be a valid Smart Card that is not expired).
Step 2: Link PromptPay account. You must link your 13-digit national ID number to any bank account you have. This is used to receive certain government assistance payments directly, such as special purchasing allowances or other relief funds.
Step 3: Check activation status. After identity verification, benefits do not start immediately but will begin according to the Ministry of Finance’s schedule—usually on the 1st of the month following successful verification. Currently, benefits are accessed using the original ID card instead of the old welfare card.
For those who already have a low-income welfare card and have been re-qualified in the new verification round, the following applies.
Is re-verification required?
Case 1: If the system indicates automatic continuation of benefits, no bank visit is needed and you can continue using your benefits with your ID card.
Case 2: If the system requires re-verification to update information (due to changed criteria or card issuance rounds), you must promptly bring your ID card to Krungthai Bank, Government Savings Bank, or BAAC for verification, just like new applicants.
