Recently, a royal command was issued appointing Major General Chakrit Ucharattan, Deputy Commander of the 4th Army Region, to advance to the position of Commander of the 4th Army Region (at the rank of Lieutenant General), effective from 1 October 2026.
Major General Chakrit Ucharattan, also known as “Deputy Kiu,” is recognized as a special forces officer who has grown and worked extensively within special operations units.
Education: Graduate of the 28th class of the Armed Forces Academies Preparatory School.
Past key position: Commander of the 1st Special Forces Division (Commander, 1st Special Forces Division).
Scheduled retirement in 2029.
With a background in special operations, Major General Chakrit is a decisive officer skilled in operational planning and possesses a deep understanding of advanced security matters.
Regarding familiarity with the southern border provinces, Major General Chakrit is regarded as one of the officers with profound and thorough knowledge, having served on the ground in the south since 1993, totaling over 30 years.
His key strengths include operational and military tactics, troop deployment and response to security situations, public relations, communication to build understanding, and connecting with the hearts of the southern border communities.
Holding the position of Commander of the 4th Army Region, he is recognized as an expert both in "tactics" and in "public relations," excelling in fostering cooperation with local communities in the area.
In 2024, Major General Chakrit was entrusted to advance to Deputy Commander of the 4th Army Region and Deputy Director of Internal Security Operations Command, Region 4 Front, as well as serving as spokesperson for the same command, acting as a key voice in explaining the situation and fostering understanding between the military and the people.
Then, in September 2026, he was graciously appointed by royal command to fully assume the position of Commander of the 4th Army Region.
