Village Security Volunteers Guard Rear Areas Along Thai-Cambodian Border

The Thai-Cambodian clashes have entered their sixth day, causing border-area residents to evacuate to shelters. As a result, Village Security Volunteers (Chor Ror Bor), who serve as local volunteers, have taken on the responsibility of guarding villagers' homes to protect the rear areas. However, these areas remain highly vulnerable to Cambodian attacks, leading to injuries and deaths. Recently, reports have emerged that some Chor Ror Bor units are facing shortages of medicine and first aid kits.

The World Armed Forces Facebook page posted today, 13 Dec 2025 GMT+7, that due to shortages of medicine and first aid kits and the closure of pharmacies, Lieutenant General Weerayut Raksin, Commander of the 2nd Army Region, issued an urgent order directing local agencies to promptly assess and provide assistance to community leaders, Village Security Volunteers (Chor Ror Bor), Territorial Defense Volunteers (Or Sor), and residents volunteering in risky areas. This follows reports that many locations are experiencing shortages of essential items, especially common household medicines and first aid supplies.

Reports from the area indicate the main cause is the closure of pharmacies, resulting in operational personnel and residents in high-risk zones being unable to access basic medical supplies adequately.

Therefore, the 2nd Army Region Commander has instructed relevant agencies to coordinate with provincial governors in local meetings to urgently find solutions to support and supply medicine and medical equipment. This effort aims to ensure the safety and boost the morale of both operational personnel and local residents in the affected areas.

Meanwhile, the Department of Provincial Administration's official Facebook page posted about the mission during this crisis: The Village Security Volunteers (Chor Ror Bor) in Ban Kruat district, Buriram province, not only secure the village but also care for residents' livestock and guard their property. This allows villagers to evacuate peacefully while the volunteers fully commit to protecting the rear areas.
