Checklist of 44 Former Move Forward MPs Awaiting NACC Decision on Article 112 Amendment Proposal

A checklist of 44 former Move Forward MPs awaits the National Anti-Corruption Commission’s crucial decision on the Article 112 amendment proposal. The list includes many key figures, representing a potential time bomb for the People's Party's future.

Regarding the case of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) which has completed its investigation of 44 former Move Forward MPs involved in proposing amendments to Criminal Code Article 112, and will vote on whether to indict before sending the case to the Supreme Court for final ruling. There are reports the vote might occur at the meeting on 25 Dec 2025 GMT+7.

However, today (24 Dec 2025 GMT+7) NACC sources reported that the agenda will not be included in the 25 Dec meeting.

The origin of the 44 MPs case

  • On 10 Feb 2021 GMT+7, 44 Move Forward MPs, led by party leader Pita Limjaroenrat, jointly submitted five draft laws to the parliamentary president, including a bill to protect freedom of expression and justice rights, as well as a draft amendment to Criminal Code Article 112.

  • On 2 Feb 2024 GMT+7, Teerayut Suwankesorn and Sonthiya Sawatdee filed a complaint with the NACC to investigate and pursue ethical violations by the Move Forward Party and the 44 MPs regarding the Article 112 amendment proposal.

  • On 7 Aug 2024 GMT+7, the Constitutional Court ruled to dissolve the Move Forward Party, finding it had attempted to overthrow the government by proposing the Article 112 amendment, and banned the party's executive committee from politics for 10 years.

  • The NACC has formed a committee to investigate and has completed the case file. The remaining step is to present it for a committee vote on indictment. If indicted, the case will be sent to the Supreme Court. Sitting MPs must suspend duties once the court accepts the case, and if found guilty, may face a political ban for up to "life" or as determined by the court.

  • Among the 44 former Move Forward MPs, many continue to work under the People's Party banner, with at least 14 registering as candidates for the 2026 election. This group represents "key men" of the party, whose indictment by the NACC and referral to the Supreme Court could affect the 2026 election and the People's Party's future operations.
