Number of Constituency MPs for the 2026 Election: How Many MPs Does Each Province Have?

Revealing the number of constituency MPs for the 2026 election across Thailand, totaling 400 constituencies, and showing how many MPs each province will have, including which provinces have the fewest and the most MPs.

Today (27 Dec 2025) marks the first day for candidate registration for the constituency-based members of parliament (MPs) election nationwide, covering 76 provinces plus Bangkok. Political parties have actively come to register and draw their candidate numbers with enthusiasm.

The calculation method to determine the number of constituency MPs is as follows: The total Thai population at the end of December 2024, totaling 64,953,661 people, is divided by the 400 constituency MPs, resulting in approximately 162,384 people per MP.

Next, the population of each province is divided by 162,384 to determine the ideal number of MPs per province, summing to 362 MPs. The remaining 38 MPs are allocated to provinces with the largest fractional remainders from the initial division, ranked from highest to lowest, with each of these 38 provinces receiving one additional MP seat.
