Unofficial results of the 2026 election show that 10 former MPs from the Chartthaipattana Party have joined the Bhumjaithai Party. Although they changed their party colors, they continue on, retaining 9 out of 10 seats.
One of the most notable political developments in the 2026 election was that Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa led former Chartthaipattana Party MPs a total of 10 individuals, switching from pink shirts to blue shirts to run under the Bhumjaithai Party banner.
In this election, Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, the sole former party-list MP, ran as number 3 on Bhumjaithai’s party list, while the nine former constituency MPs all sought to retain their original seats, each firmly holding their respective areas, especially in Suphanburi, a province closely tied to the party since the era of former Prime Minister Banharn Silpa-archa. Although in the 2023 election, the party-list votes for the “Orange Party” or the former Move Forward Party swept the entire province, their constituency candidates were decisively defeated.
This move has drawn attention from both local and national voters who are watching whether the wholesale party switch will have any effect. The public’s confidence—whether in the party or the individual candidates regardless of party color—remains a key question.
As of 23:12 on 8 Feb 2026 GMT+7, with 56% of votes counted, unofficial results show that 9 of the 10 former Chartthaipattana MPs have continued successfully, while 1 has lost, detailed as follows:
