Wan Morna, also known as Love Riya, is a famous Cambodian online seller and influencer who became a hot topic during the 2025 Thailand-Cambodia border conflict.
Wan Morna, whose real name is Chheng Sreyrath, owns the popular Cambodian cosmetics brand Love Riya. She became known in Thailand after going viral for dressing in Cambodian military uniform and high heels while distributing money and supplies to soldiers at the border. She also often referenced spiritual beliefs, claiming past lives such as being a consort of King Jayavarman VII or the daughter of a Naga serpent.
The main reason for her arrest on 14 August 2025 was actions deemed contrary to Cambodia’s security and government policy amid the tense border situation with Thailand, as follows:
Criticizing the military and government: She livestreamed criticisms of the Cambodian army's operations and claimed high Cambodian troop losses, which the government saw as demoralizing the military.
Defying the Thai product boycott: While some Cambodians campaigned to boycott Thai goods with the slogan "Every dollar is a weapon used against us," she announced in a livestream that she would continue importing and selling Thai creams, insisting it was her right to sell and customers’ right to buy.
Incitement charges: The Kandal Provincial Court filed serious charges under Articles 472 and 496 of the Penal Code for "inciting discrimination" and "demoralizing the army."
Post-arrest complications: After her detention, Cambodian authorities tested her products and claimed they contained banned chemicals (such as mercury and salicylic acid at dangerous levels), posing health risks to consumers and worsening her legal situation.
Latest situation (February 2026): Reports state she was taken from prison for a medical examination, confirming she is pregnant while still in custody, bringing renewed social media attention to her case.
