Five days since a young girl was found dead in a forest in Saraburi province, the mystery of the skull fracture remains: was it a cover-up or an accident? Authorities continue searching for close contacts but have no leads.
The tragic case of a young girl found dead abandoned in a forest in Saraburi province remains unsolved five days later, with no missing person reports or significant clues. Police are urgently working to identify the girl and have offered a 15,000 baht reward hoping to solve the case.
On 23 Feb 2026, reporters learned that locals found a young girl’s body abandoned in a forest by the Chai Nat–Pasak irrigation canal embankment, Village 2, Ban Klap Subdistrict, Nong Don District, Saraburi. The body lay face down, decomposed with maggots, emitting a strong odor. The right arm was missing. She wore long denim jeans, a pink jacket, a diaper, and blue socks. About 3 meters from her right foot lay a white towel and a purple baby blanket.
A preliminary autopsy at the scene estimated the girl had been dead for over one month. Police sent the body for further examination at the Police Hospital forensic department and disseminated information to villages in Ban Klap and nearby areas, also coordinating with Lopburi province. So far, no one has reported a missing person matching her description.
Mr. Sitthichai, who first discovered the body, said that after finishing work in Lopburi, he was riding a motorcycle to visit his brother in Nong Don, Saraburi, along the canal embankment road. He noticed a purple cloth by the roadside, stopped to check, initially thinking it was a doll, but realized it was a child's body and immediately notified Nong Don Police Station for investigation.
Pol. Col. Sirimongkol Sukaparamet, Chief of Nong Don Police Station, along with investigators from Nong Don and Saraburi provincial police, held urgent meetings to track leads and confirm the girl's identity. They have continuously released information about her appearance and evidence found at the scene.
Examination revealed marks resembling animal bite and claw marks on the body. The girl’s head had no hair due to decomposition over more than a month. A skull fracture with signs of bleeding was found, but it is unclear if this occurred before or after death, as the body was face down. The socks she wore bore the logo of an amusement park inside a department store in Saraburi province.
Items found at the scene were kindergarten child bedding sets. Authorities contacted child development centers locally and across the province as well as relevant government and private agencies but found no missing child reports. They also coordinated with forensic officials in Saraburi’s Zones 1 and 2 to examine local school records thoroughly. Investigators from Region 1, Saraburi police, and Nong Don Police Station expanded their inquiries to neighboring provinces including Lopburi, Ang Thong, Singburi, and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya but found no matching missing child reports.
Regarding suspects, Pol. Col. Sirimongkol said it is possible the perpetrator is someone close to or caring for the child, as no missing person report has been filed. A direct guardian would likely have reported or informed authorities, especially after widespread media coverage.
Nong Don Police Station has offered a 15,000 baht reward for information identifying the girl. Those with information can contact Nong Don Police Station at 036-397181 or Pol. Col. Sirimongkol Sukaparamet, Chief of Nong Don Police Station, at 097-6929895.
