Following violent incidents in the southern border provinces, at approximately 01:09 on 20 March 2026, unidentified assailants fired guns at the vehicle parked outside the home of Kamolsak Leevamoa, Member of Parliament from the Prachachart Party, in Ban Sompoi, Village No. 9, Bajoh Subdistrict, Bajoh District, Narathiwat Province—also known as Lawyer Waewhae. Two of his aides were injured.
Authorities initially arrested four suspects, while one remains at large. Meanwhile, MP Kamolsak has urged local agencies to act, noting that on the day of the attack another vehicle was observed acting as a lookout. Phone calls made immediately after the shooting serve as critical evidence that could lead to the mastermind behind the attack.

MP Kamolsak described unusual activity near his Narathiwat residence this week, reporting a suspicious vehicle parked surveilling his house and the opposite side for two consecutive days, causing him to worry about his safety.
The suspicious vehicle was parked near his home for two days, from 20 to 21 April 2026. On the first day, a five-door car and a black pickup truck were parked near his house for an extended period. When household members noticed the vehicles, they drove off but then parked across the street from the residence.
On the following day, a suspicious vehicle was parked across from the house for a long time. Noticing this, household staff took photos, but no one exited the vehicle. Instead, the driver started the car and drove away.
These irregularities remain untrustworthy. Moving forward, MP Kamolsak says he must consult senior party leaders because as they uncover more about the perpetrators, unusual developments have emerged. He believes the attackers operate as an organized network. Concerned for his and his family's safety, he hopes government agencies will engage in addressing this issue.
