"Ming Chen Sun": Three suspicious behaviors contradicting each other—stockpiling war weapons and stress-induced seizures—are these a staged scenario or is he the 'boss' scammer?
After Thai authorities detained Ming Chen Sun, a Chinese man, in Chonburi Province for possessing various sizes of serious war weapons, he claimed to suffer from depression and intended to use these weapons to end his own life. However, many of his behaviors contradict this claim.
Yesterday (11 May 2026), Pattaya prison officials rushed the Chinese man to Bang Lamung Hospital after police brought him in for detention. While undergoing prisoner intake screening, he suffered a shock and a fixed-eye seizure due to physical weakness and refused to eat for three days, consuming only water. Stress was determined to be the cause of these symptoms.
Analyzing the behavior of Ming Chen Sun, who is reportedly a high-level boss in a Chinese scammer network based in Cambodia, reveals clues that clarify this case. Thairath Online's special news team consulted Associate Professor Dr. Weerasak Charatchaisri, a forensic medicine expert at Srinakharinwirot University, who analyzed that the suspect's weapon stockpiling and claim of depression raise several interesting points.
1. Ming Chen Sun suddenly experienced seizures, so the cause must be investigated. Some people have seizures due to pre-existing conditions such as epilepsy. Factors like food deprivation and stress can trigger symptom flare-ups, so combined with fasting, seizures might occur.
2. His claim that he bought war weapons for collecting and planned to use them to commit suicide is inconsistent with typical depressive patient behavior. Importantly, these weapons are not suitable for self-harm but are designed to injure or kill others.
3. The most suspicious point is that possession of war weapons and military equipment is illegal. As a foreigner living here, Ming Chen Sun should not have any weapons. Even in China, the penalties for such possession can be as severe as the death penalty. His claims of depression-related stress and stockpiling war weapons seem inconsistent with the facts.
Currently, I suspect his refusal to eat may stem from stress, possibly caused by his arrest, or it may be a form of resistance behavior.
In terms of investigation, the police must determine the medical cause of his condition or if it is merely a staged act to create a scene.
