Thailand's e-commerce market is beginning to slow, while Chinese multinational platforms are growing against the trend, now holding over half of Thailand's market share. This serves as a warning sign before the potential collapse of the Thai industry.


The current situation of Thailand's e-commerce sector shows a decline in growth rate compared to the past, contrasting with China where growth is increasing and expected to continue rising in the future.

Thairath Online's special news team interviewed Thanawat Malabuppha, CEO of Priceza Company Limited and Honorary President of the Thai E-commerce Entrepreneurs Association, on this topic and learned that


Currently, Chinese e-commerce platforms dominate more than 50% of the Thai market, typically winning customers over through proven formulas such as lower prices and fast delivery.


Thai consumers exhibit varied purchasing behaviors, with the most popular platforms among Thais divided as follows:

Marketplaces such as Shopee and Lazada account for 50%

Entertainment platforms such as TikTok make up 30%

Other platforms like LineMan and Grab represent 20%
