A close associate of the Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization Chief recounted that “Chalong” spoke only a few words before shooting Police Colonel Thongchai. Four bullets were lodged in his body; the motive remains under investigation.
Today, 10 Aug 2016, in Nonthaburi, reports indicate that former prominent MP Chalong Riewrung attacked Police Colonel Thongchai, Chief of Nonthaburi PAO, at the PAO office. The incident occurred around 11:29 AM when Chalong Riewrung shot Police Colonel Thongchai Yenprasert at the PAO office.
The Thairath Online special team contacted Pornchai Yimklib, a close associate of Police Colonel Thongchai, Chief of Nonthaburi PAO, who said the motive for the shooting is still unknown. The injured has been taken to Phra Nang Klao Hospital.
At the time of the incident, as Police Colonel Thongchai Yenprasert was driving away, the assailant approached the vehicle and spoke with him. During the brief exchange, Police Colonel Thongchai rolled down the window and spoke only two to three words before the assailant immediately fired four shots into the car, targeting the seating side.
Currently, doctors are performing surgery due to bullets lodged above the eyebrow, neck, and shoulder. Further updates will be reported by the news team.
