Phra Boonsin, also known as General Kung, former Commander of the 2nd Army Region, clarified that the photo with “Nuch” does not indicate a personal acquaintance and stressed that he did not assign or appoint her as an attendant.
In response to information circulating on social media claiming that “Nuch” is a “close caretaker and attendant of General Boonsin” or General Boonsin Padklang, former Commander of the 2nd Army Region, inquiries were made directly to Luang Por Boonsin to prevent misunderstandings.
Luang Por Boonsin confirmed that he “does not personally know the individual” and did not assign, endorse, or recognize her as his attendant, caretaker, or representative in any capacity.
Having a photo taken with monks, public figures, or celebrities cannot automatically be taken as proof of status, trust, or personal assignment. Such photos should be regarded only as images and not interpreted beyond the factual context.
This matter serves as an important lesson that the “Five Precepts” form the foundation of social coexistence, especially the fourth precept against false speech, which reminds us to speak truthfully, avoid lying, distortion, and statements that cause misunderstandings.
Observing the precepts means not only refraining from lying but also being mindful when speaking about others—without exaggeration, false claims, or exploiting others’ reputations to gain credibility.
Meanwhile, the principle of Appamāda, or mindfulness, advises recipients of information to be cautious, not to believe hastily just because of seeing images or reading messages on social media, but to verify facts before believing, speaking, or sharing.
“A photo is just a photo, but facts must be confirmed by truth.”
Therefore, it is essential to start by observing the precepts, especially truthful speech, because words grounded in truth do not cause misunderstandings nor harm others with falsehoods.
For Luang Por Boonsin, upon entering the monastic order and devoting himself to practice, any presentation of stories related to him should be based on truthfulness, honesty, and respect for his monastic status, without exaggerating or misusing his image or name beyond reality.
