Drama Over “Teacher Kaikaew” at Huai Khwang Shrine Amid Social Media Fear of “Negative Energy”

The presence of “Teacher Kaikaew” at the Ganesh Shrine at Huai Khwang Intersection has been linked to negative energy and impersonating spirits. Some share uncomfortable experiences and urgently warn others to avoid the place, while others counter that Teacher Kaikaew has been there for a very long time, stressing that true faith lies in the heart and sincere actions.

The debate and discussion about “Teacher Kaikaew” have resurfaced on Twitter (X). The issue began when someone reviewed a spiritual place featuring a Ganesh statue alongside a Teacher Kaikaew figure. This sparked comparisons and links to the Ganesh Shrine at Huai Khwang Intersection.

Netizens exchanged experiences, many agreeing that upon visiting this site, they felt uncomfortable or sensed negative energy. Some who had worshipped there were unaware that “Teacher Kaikaew” was even present, raising questions about the statue’s presence and whether it brought hidden negative energy to the place.

Thairath Online’s special team visited the Ganesh Shrine at Huai Khwang Intersection at 9 a.m., finding a generally calm atmosphere with about two to three visitors paying respects—relatively few people. The team then explored the area further.

The first thing found at the front was the statue of Rahu. Looking further back toward the center of the courtyard is the Ganesh statue. Flanking the sides are the Trimurti deity on the left and a service booth selling worship items on the right.

Deeper inside are statues of Shiva and the goddess Uma Devi. At the very back behind these statues is a space for worshipping three more sacred figures arranged in a row: the Great Hermit in the center, the Royal Physician (Jivaka Komarabhacca) on the left, and the Teacher Kaikaew statue on the far right.

Unpacking the drama over “conflicting energies” as the divine shrine becomes rumored a center for dark spiritual practices?

The installation of the “Teacher Kaikaew” statue alongside Ganesh has sparked widespread debate online, especially about energy conflicts. Traditional Hindu devotees view Ganesh as a deity of pure energy, so placing a figure perceived as a demon nearby reportedly clouds the atmosphere around the site.

On TikTok and Twitter (X), some spiritual groups discuss beliefs that the sacred energy of the deities might be disturbed or repelled, leaving the blessings and offerings effectively received by wandering spirits impersonating them.

Due to concerns over negative energy, many devotees have warned others not to visit for worship here. Instead, they recommend worshipping Ganesh at other temples or shrines dedicated solely to deities to ensure peace of mind and that prayers truly reach the great deity, not some hidden spirits.

Voices from another perspective: “Teacher Kaikaew has been here a long time – worship is the same wherever you go.”

Amid criticism, some netizens and worshippers emphasize that the Teacher Kaikaew statue was originally installed by Ajarn Suchart Rattanasuk, the founder of this shrine, and has stood here for a long time without issues or negative energy controversies—until recent backlash following the large statue at Ratchada-Ladprao Intersection shifted public opinion against this site.

Many feel the negative energy claims are unrelated, noting that true worship depends on genuine intent and faith. “Worship is the same everywhere, it doesn’t matter,” they say, affirming from personal experience that they have prayed here successfully and received blessings as usual. Thus, the energy drama may be mass superstition or personal belief misapplied.

Furthermore, when some fail to receive blessings after worshipping Ganesh, it may not be due to negative energy or disturbances at the site, but because prayers alone are insufficient. Realizing wishes requires sincere effort and dedication aligned with what is asked, leading to tangible results.

Ultimately, all these matters are personal beliefs requiring discernment. Choosing where to worship sacred figures should prioritize individual peace of mind. If worship brings happiness, spiritual support, and motivation to live without harming oneself or others, that is what matters most to devotees.
