Johnny The Enforcer updates on Amnat Ruenreung’s life as he returns to heavy drinking. From a hero who brought fame to the country on the world boxing stage to facing a heartbreaking major life challenge. “Jaophet” Amnat Ruenreung, former IBF professional flyweight boxing world champion, is currently suffering from deep psychiatric illness caused by severe nervous system damage from drug abuse.
Recently, Amnat Ruenreung, who had been recuperating at Johnny The Enforcer’s home and working as a boxing coach, requested to return home to Chonburi on 13 Oct 2026 GMT+7. However, after arriving in Chonburi, Amnat resumed drinking alcohol.
This incident has drawn renewed public attention after Johnny The Enforcer (Police Sergeant Yutthaphon Srisompong) shared the story on the Facebook page "Talung Krung Johnny The Enforcer," detailing his efforts to help and guide the former world champion back to the right path, along with an update on the latest situation that has saddened many.
Johnny The Enforcer posted on his personal Facebook that he and his family have fully supported and cared for Amnat, hoping to give him a chance to start anew. However, Johnny reflected on the academic perspective and facts about this group of psychiatric patients, stating:
Amnat’s uncontrolled actions or episodes are not due to feelings of hurt or social media drama as some have interpreted, but result from “severe brain and nervous system damage” causing his brain to constantly crave drugs and alcohol.
“The nervous system commands it to be that way. The only way to help is medication and rest. Consoling words, teachings, or encouragement have no effect. Without supervision to take medication, symptoms worsen immediately,” Johnny The Enforcer explained.
Danger Signs When Medication Effect Wears Off, The Cycle Begins Again
After Amnat requested to leave Johnny’s home to return to the Si Racha area, worrying signs appeared when he began missing doses of prescribed medication, later losing contact for several hours, only informing that he was going to fix a tire and apply for construction work.
Later, Amnat’s older sister confirmed that the former world champion had resumed drinking white liquor and beer from night through the morning, and refused to return home for medication on schedule, telling those who came to get him, “Don’t bother me, I’m playing snooker.”
At the same time, CCTV footage in an alley in Si Racha confirms that Amnat has returned to the cycle of drug and alcohol use. Medically, this is a period when the medication still tries to counteract the effects of alcohol and drugs, but without consistent medication, the nervous system may become uncontrollable, leading to psychotic episodes.
Amnat Ruenreung’s story is not only heartbreaking for Thai boxing fans who once witnessed his greatness in the ring but also serves as a “costly lesson” for society, especially youth.
Johnny The Enforcer shared a thoughtful warning: no matter how strong and resilient a world champion athlete is, trying drugs can destroy the nervous system, brain, and future in a very short time.
Although the treatment process is difficult and can only proceed through medical steps, everyone who has helped can only pray that this former Thai hero will avoid serious danger and hope for a miracle in his recovery to bring his life back again.
