Grand Sport unveiled the Thai national team uniform for the 20th Asian Games 2026 in Aichi–Nagoya, Japan, expressing the concept "THREADS OF SPIRIT – woven as one." Every thread of culture, craftsmanship wisdom, and the fighting spirit of athletes connects people to move forward together. This collection weaves Thailand's identity, cultural heritage, and inspiration from Japan along with shared Asian cultures into a unified design.
The main inspiration for the travel uniform comes from adapting the royal pattern "Queen Sirikit's Blossoms," bestowed by Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, in homage to the benevolence of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, who devoted herself to conserving, promoting, and continuing Thai textiles, crafts, and weaving wisdom, gaining international recognition.
This has become a fundamental basis for contemporary Thai creative work and fashion. Another key aspect of the collection is reinterpreting the weaving concept through modern design by drawing inspiration from basketry patterns common across many Asian cultures, combined with Japan's traditional Asanoha pattern, creating a design language that harmoniously connects diverse cultures.
For this important project, Grand Sport honored designer Vicharawit Aksantisuk, founder of the WISHARAWISH brand, as project consultant. He brought a perspective of Contemporary Asian Sport Fashion by blending athletic wear performance with the refinement of craftsmanship and the elegance of international contemporary fashion.
The collection also reflects the concept of Innovation Meets Sustainability through developing sustainable sportswear. It features polo shirts made from recycled fibers sourced from plastic bottles, Full Jacquard weaving technology that creates patterns directly on the fabric to enhance breathability and reduce printing processes, and Anti-Bacterial Technology to minimize bacteria buildup and unpleasant odors. This embodies the development of sports products integrating innovation, performance, and environmental responsibility. The collection’s main colors are navy blue, light blue, cream, black, and copper, expressing elegance, strength, and the value of Asian arts and culture through a contemporary lens that represents Thailand on the international stage.
