Phuripol Boonsorn, known as “Biw,” a promising male sprinter on Thailand’s national team, has continued to improve during his training and competition in the Czech Republic. He recently ran the 100 meters in under 10 seconds again, achieving a time of 9.99 seconds. This performance has strengthened the Sports Authority of Thailand’s (SAT) confidence in his chances of winning a medal at the 20th Asian Games in Japan. Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, governor of SAT, confirmed that Thai sports fans will be able to watch all popular sports, especially men's football and women's volleyball, live and for free.
Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), revealed that the 20th Asian Games, to be held from 19 September to 4 October 2026 in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, has Thai sports fans eagerly awaiting to watch and support their athletes. SAT has confirmed that T SPORTS 7, a tourism and sports television station, will be the main broadcaster alongside several digital TV partner channels, offering free and comprehensive live coverage of the Asian Games. Popular sports such as men's football and women's volleyball will certainly be broadcast live for fans to follow and cheer. For other sports, viewers will be able to see as much of Thailand's athletes' performances as possible.
The SAT governor added that athletics, a core sport and a major interest for Thai sports fans, will be one of the highlights of the Asian Games. In particular, “Biw” Phuripol Boonsorn, a promising sprinter on Thailand's national team, has shown outstanding performances with steadily improving times. In early August, he went to Prague, Czech Republic, for training and competed in summer athletics events, again running the 100 meters in under 10 seconds, clocking 9.99 seconds. This achievement boosts confidence that Phuripol will compete strongly for medals at the Asian Games.
Phuripol Boonsorn made important history in Thai athletics at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games hosted by Thailand in late 2025 by winning the gold medal in the men's 100 meters. He recorded a qualifying round time of 9.94 seconds and a final time of 10.00 seconds. At the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, in 2023, Phuripol earned the silver medal in the 100 meters with a time of 10.02 seconds.
