"Piyanuch" shares wow moments after Thailand women's volleyball team beats Mongolia in first match at the 2026 Asian Games.
On 16 September 2026, Plawan Piyanuch Pannoi, the experienced libero of the Thailand women's national volleyball team, gave an interview after the first preliminary round Group C match of the 2026 Asian Games held in Japan.
The Thailand women's volleyball team, ranked 13th in the world and fresh off winning the 2026 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship and qualifying for the 2028 Olympic Games, defeated Mongolia, ranked 130th globally, 3-0 sets (25-12, 25-18, 25-18), securing their first 3 points as planned.
Despite the decisive win, Piyanuch Pannoi admitted that Mongolia has improved significantly, managing to score several points against Thailand's team. "Today, we were quite wowed by the Mongolian team because they have developed greatly in almost every skill."
