Frustration hit the Thai national sepak takraw team as their names were missing from the accommodation system, forcing them to wait an entire day before competing in the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
On 17 September 2026, the Thai national sepak takraw team arrived in Japan on 16 September to take part in the 20th Asian Games held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. They were informed that the hosts had arranged their accommodation aboard the Costa Serena cruise ship docked at Nagoya Port.
However, upon arrival at the Costa Serena, an issue arose when cruise ship staff reported they could not find any Thai athletes or officials listed in their accommodation system. This prevented the Thai sepak takraw team from checking in as initially planned, causing a delay of nearly a full day.
The Thai national sepak takraw team will compete in the 20th Asian Games from 19 September to 4 October 2026. Thailand will enter four events: men's team, men's singles, women's team, and women's four-player team, aiming to secure gold medals in all categories.
