"Today's game was always going to be tough when competing against the Vietnam national team, a side we often face and play against. Their level and style are closely matched with ours, and today they played without pressure," Alfred said.
"I never use excuses like 'we were unlucky.' There is no such thing as bad luck. We just played okay but failed to score. It's purely a matter of finishing. We had several clear chances but couldn't convert them. That's football," he said.
"Regarding experience, as I mentioned, we had a great opportunity to play against Japan, which gave us valuable lessons and insights on how to improve. After that, we faced two teams ranked higher than us and performed quite well. We conceded a goal to Taiwan late in the game from a very good shot. For me, it was a very good experience, and we did well after the match against Japan. Overall, it’s an acceptable outcome for us."
The Chaba Kaew, Thailand's women's national football team, will return immediately, arriving at Suvarnabhumi International Airport on 22 September 2026 at 21:30 Thailand time.
