Phuriphon Boonsorn opened up after winning gold in the men's 100 meters at the "Asian Games 2026," breaking the "Asian Games" record once again and setting a new mark.
On 25 Sep 2026, "Thep Biw" Phuriphon Boonsorn shared his thoughts after winning the gold medal in the men's 100-meter event at the 20th Asian Games Aichi–Nagoya 2026, held at Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium, during the final round.
In the semifinals, Phuriphon Boonsorn, a Thai national athlete, finished first with a time of 9.91 seconds, breaking the Asian Games record. He then broke the record again in the final with a time of 9.90 seconds.
Recently, "Thep Biw" Phuriphon Boonsorn said, "Being the fastest man in Asia makes me very happy and proud to win this gold medal. I wanted to bring this medal home to Thai fans as I promised. Between the semifinal and final rounds, I felt a lot of pressure—more than ever before. My coach had to talk to me, reminding me that I have to beat everyone; no one will give up easily. That encouragement gave me strength."
"Achieving this makes me very happy. This is the medal I've been waiting for since the SEA Games ended. I have been training nonstop for this event. I also want to thank my mother and family for their constant support, which helped me reach this day. My next goal is the 200 meters, where I hope to break the record and win another gold medal for Thailand."
