Liverpool Takes Latest Action Regarding Salah After Continuing Support for Klopp Amid Harsh Media Criticism

Liverpool has made its latest move regarding Mohamed Salah after continuing to support Klopp amid his harsh public criticism.

On 8 Dec 2025 GMT+7, The Guardian, a leading British media outlet, reported on the situation involving Mohamed Salah, Liverpool’s star striker in the English Premier League, amid serious tensions with manager Jürgen Klopp.

Mohamed Salah gave a fiery media interview after being dropped to the bench for three consecutive matches, lamenting that he was made a scapegoat for Liverpool's poor performances and claiming that some at the club no longer want him to stay.

Additionally, Salah made it clear that his relationship with Klopp has deteriorated and hinted at a possible transfer during the January winter window, despite having recently extended his contract through June 2027.

However, Liverpool's board continues to back Klopp, reasoning that the Dutch manager should have full autonomy over tactical decisions and team selection, with players expected to respond professionally. The club’s future decisions will be based on performance rather than Salah's protests.

Most recently, The Guardian reported that Mohamed Salah might be left out of Liverpool’s squad traveling to Inter Milan for the sixth group stage match of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, 9 Dec 2025 GMT+7, following his public criticisms of Klopp and the club.

Sources revealed that Salah still reported for training on Sunday as scheduled, while Liverpool’s senior management has discussed the situation but wishes to avoid public conflict.

It now depends on whether Klopp will decide to exclude Salah from the squad for the UEFA Champions League trip to Inter Milan. Training will take place in the morning, with the team flying to Italy in the afternoon, before Klopp’s first pre-match press conference in the evening.
