Rumors Abound: Lewandowski Has Chosen His New Club After Preparing to Leave Barcelona

Robert Lewandowski is reportedly choosing his new club as he prepares to leave Barcelona after this season.

BBC, the prominent British media outlet, reported that Robert Lewandowski, the Polish national team striker for "Barça" Barcelona, is ready to join Chicago Fire, a Major League Soccer club in the United States, after this season.

Lewandowski, aged 37, has scored 109 goals in 164 appearances for Barcelona, winning two La Liga titles since transferring from Bayern Munich in 2022. This season, he has scored 8 goals in 17 matches, helping his team lead La Liga by 4 points over Real Madrid.

However, as Lewandowski’s contract with Barcelona expires in the summer of 2026, he is becoming a target for many clubs across Europe and abroad.

Recent reports indicate that Chicago Fire is the most serious contender and has had positive negotiations with Lewandowski, who is open to the move; salary is not expected to be an obstacle.

Previously, Chicago Fire tried to sign Brazilian star Neymar and Kevin De Bruyne but failed, leading them to focus fully on Lewandowski to make their dream deal a reality.

This is a strategic move because Chicago has the largest Polish community in the U.S., giving Chicago Fire an edge over other MLS teams in pursuing his signature. Additionally, Lewandowski’s wife Anna visited Chicago last month.
