Legendary Liverpool Figure Graeme Souness Criticizes Manchester United Under Rúben Amorim, Praises Only Two Quality Players

Graeme Souness, Liverpool legend, criticizes Manchester United under Rúben Amorim, saying only two players have good quality skills.

On 18 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Graeme Souness, Liverpool legend, criticized the current Manchester United team in the English Premier League, led by Portuguese manager Rúben Amorim, saying there are only two players with good quality skills.

Last summer, Rúben Amorim led Manchester United to finish 15th in the Premier League, their worst-ever position since adopting this name. The club spent heavily on signings including Brian Embolo, Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko, and Senne Lammens, but overall team performance did not meet expectations.

Recently, Graeme Souness stated, "Manchester United is just an ordinary team. This is Rúben Amorim's fault, right? I think Matheus Cunha and Brian Embolo are good quality players, but the rest are all average. I don't see them finishing in the top four by season’s end. Of course, they are a very big club both nationally and globally, but right now they are going through a tough period."

Manchester United, managed by Portuguese coach Rúben Amorim, will visit Aston Villa, nicknamed the "Villains," coached by Spaniard Unai Emery, in the English Premier League 2025-26 season tonight, 21 December 2025 GMT+7, with kickoff at 23:30 Thailand time.
