Semenyo Decides Amid Liverpool Interest to Replace Isak

Semenyo has made his decision following reports that Liverpool are targeting him as a replacement for Isak.

On 22 Dec 2025 GMT+7, David Ornstein, a Tier 1 journalist from The Athletic, a leading British media outlet, revealed the latest news about Antoine Semenyo, the key striker for Bournemouth, who is currently linked with Liverpool, a fellow Premier League club.

Liverpool has been repeatedly reported to be pursuing Antoine Semenyo after Alexander Isak, their record £125 million striker, appears likely to suffer a severe injury sidelining him for several months, possibly a broken leg, following the recent Premier League away win over Tottenham 2-1.

Antoine Semenyo is versatile in attacking positions, able to play as a winger, striker, attacking midfielder, or wing-back. He has a £65 million release clause at Bournemouth, effective in the January transfer window, increasing his accessibility to interested clubs.

Recently, David Ornstein told NBC Sports that “Tottenham Hotspur are very interested and ready to offer Antoine Semenyo a substantial salary, but he is considering other options, which seem to be Manchester City or Manchester United.”

Meanwhile, Mark Dobson, a reporter for The Guardian, reported that Liverpool aims to sign Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth for £65 million, and the Ghanaian international has reportedly agreed on personal terms for a January transfer.

Mark Dobson also added that Manchester City and Manchester United are interested in Semenyo as well, but it is believed that he prefers a move to Liverpool.

Currently, Antoine Semenyo is in top form, having scored 8 goals and provided 3 assists in 16 Premier League appearances for Bournemouth this season.
