After Antoine Semenyo Deal Falters, Major Media Reveals Manchester United Shifts Target to Former Premier League Player

After the failed pursuit of Antoine Semenyo, major media reveal that Manchester United has shifted its target to a player who has previously played in the Premier League.

On 24 Dec 2025 GMT+7, after the failed bid for Antoine Semenyo, Manchester United, the famous Premier League club under Portuguese manager Ruben Amorim, is reportedly changing its target to pursue Ruben Neves, the Portuguese international midfielder from Al Hilal, according to Caught Offside.

Al Hilal, a leading Saudi Arabian club, is ready to sell the 28-year-old former Wolverhampton Wanderers player, and the player himself is willing to move, aiming to return to England where he played from 2017 to 2023.

This comes as Ruben Amorim will be without captain Bruno Fernandes, who suffered a knee ligament injury in the recent 1-2 away league loss to Aston Villa on the night of Sunday, 21 December, and Ruben Neves is among the top names considered to join the squad.
