Premier Leagues Prominent Coach Decides to Leave Team After This Season

A prominent coach in the English Premier League is preparing to say goodbye to his team after this season, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano.

On 26 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Fabrizio Romano, the highly accurate Italian journalist, confirmed that Oliver Glasner, the manager of Crystal Palace, has decided not to renew his contract and is set to leave the team after the 2025-26 season.

Glasner, an Austrian, took charge of Crystal Palace in February 2024 and led the team to win the FA Cup by defeating Manchester City in the final in May 2025, securing a spot in European competition.

However, tensions over a lack of support for player signings and long-term vision caused dissatisfaction for Glasner. Previously, the team sold key player Eberechi Eze to Arsenal and nearly sold Marc Guehi in the past summer. Recent reports indicate Glasner has decided not to extend his contract with Crystal Palace, which expires at the end of this season.

Steve Parish, Crystal Palace's chairman, wants to keep Glasner at the club, but sources say Glasner seeks new challenges to fulfill his coaching ambitions and to work with a club that has greater resources.

Glasner has previously been linked with Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur, all interested in hiring him as manager.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace has started planning for a replacement, with candidates including José Bordalás from Getafe, Iñigo Pérez from Rayo Vallecano, and Liam Rosier from Strasbourg.
