Where Did He Come From? Manchester United is set to secure a "fitness machine" midfielder to bolster their squad, with the player reportedly very interested in joining.
On 27 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Francesca Teodori, an Italian journalist from AS Roma Live, revealed that Premier League giants Manchester United are preparing to sign Manu Koné, a French international midfielder, to strengthen their midfield.
Manchester United has been linked with several midfielders as they aim to build a new midfield under coach Rúben Amorim. However, their main targets come with high price tags, including Carlos Baleba (Brighton), Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest), and Adam Worthington (Crystal Palace).
Recently, Francesca Teodori reported that Manchester United have a good chance of signing Manu Koné in the upcoming summer transfer window. She also noted that the 24-year-old player is interested in joining the Red Devils.
Teodori stated, "This is not new news but a rather credible rumor. I have been informed from multiple sources that he will leave Roma in June and join Manchester United."
"I don't know if this is related to Joshua Sergi's deal or not. He might be involved in the negotiations as part of the arrangement. This remains to be seen, but what is clear is that Koné is very interested in United, and it seems likely he will move there in June."
Manu Koné can play as a defensive midfielder, central midfielder, and attacking midfielder. He has 12 caps for the French senior national team and is known for his strength, good technique, and exceptional fitness. This season, he has started all 16 Serie A games for Roma, playing the full 90 minutes each time. Transfermarkt values him at 50 million euros.
