No delay as "Wirtz" delivers sharp words after scoring his first goal for "Liverpool" to reach 4th place in the Premier League.
On 29 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Florian Wirtz, Liverpool's attacking midfielder, gave his latest interview after scoring his first goal since transferring from Bayer Leverkusen to play in the English Premier League for a fee of £116 million.
Florian Wirtz broke his goal drought with Liverpool in the latest Premier League match, helping the Reds narrowly beat Wolverhampton 2-1 at home. This extended their unbeaten streak to seven matches in all competitions and moved them up to 4th place in the Premier League standings.
Regarding Liverpool's return to the Premier League's top 4, Florian Wirtz said, "That's exactly what we want. We want to be there, and we aim to top the table."
"It hasn't been an easy start for us, but I think we've been improving in recent games and have collected several points. We're simply trying to win every game, and today we secured 3 points, so that's good."
On his personal performance, having scored his first goal in 23 appearances for Liverpool across all competitions and already providing 6 assists, Florian Wirtz stated, "I was confident that one day I would score."
"Of course, I wanted to start scoring and assisting teammates sooner, but things are the way they are. I have to accept it, but I know it will come eventually, and I keep working towards that."
Currently, Liverpool stands 4th with 32 points, trailing league leaders Arsenal by 10 points in the Premier League standings.
