Fletcher Speaks Frankly After Man Utd Draw with Burnley

Darren Fletcher, the interim manager of Manchester United, shared his thoughts after Burnley came back to draw in the latest English Premier League match.

On 8 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Darren Fletcher, the interim manager of the "Red Devils" Manchester United, admitted feeling disappointed with the result after the team drew 2-2 away against Burnley in the English Premier League last night, despite the team performing well and creating numerous chances.

"The draw is very disappointing. Considering the context of the game, the chances we created, the clearances off the goal line, the disallowed goal, about 30 shots, and the attacking play, we created enough opportunities to win."

Regarding Benjamin Sesko after his two goals, Fletcher said, "I'm very happy for him. I spoke with him yesterday, and we reviewed video showing his movements and goals to demonstrate that it was coming, and he needs to keep believing. Other players need to pass to him more. He did well tonight and scored two excellent goals. It was a really good night for Ben."

"The team is disappointed with the draw, but in terms of his personal level of play, I hope he can continue to develop from here."

As a result of the draw, Manchester United now has 32 points, sitting 7th in the English Premier League standings.
