The Story of Noah Adekoya, Liverpools New Player Who Was Once Missed by the Club 8 Years Ago

The story of "Noah Adekoya," Liverpool's new player who was once missed by the club 8 years ago.

On 8 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Liverpool signed Noah Adekoya, a defender who captained Burnley U18 to a championship last season, to join their U21 team under coach Rob Page. This marks the club's first signing in the January transfer window.

Noah Adekoya posted a photo on Instagram showing his signing with Liverpool alongside a childhood picture of himself in a Liverpool kit, captioned "God's plan."

Back in 2018, Noah, a local boy from Liverpool, trialed with the club at just 11 years old and reached the final stages. Unfortunately, a severe arm fracture forced a long recovery and ended his chance at that time.

He restarted his football journey at grassroots level, gradually rebuilding himself before signing with Burnley at age 12 and steadily developing his skills there over several years.

Today, at age 19, Noah has returned to Liverpool with the U21 team. This full-circle journey proves that timing truly matters.
