Roy Keane, the well-known football analyst, named Arsenal, the "Gunners," as the favorite to win the English Premier League for the 2025-26 season after 21 matches had been played.
Currently, Arsenal leads the standings with 49 points, holding a 6-point lead over second-placed Manchester City. Although they recently drew 0-0 with Liverpool, Keane believes this is still enough for Arsenal to secure the championship, despite their previous late-season slips that cost them the title for three consecutive seasons.
"Mikel Arteta must be satisfied. They lead by 6 points after 21 matches. It’s an excellent position, but you have to believe Manchester City and Aston Villa will be chasing closely behind," Keane said.
"The upcoming weeks, including the January transfer window, will be interesting. Clubs will look to strengthen their squads. At this moment, Arsenal is definitely the favorite to win the title," Keane added.
Arsenal’s next fixtures include an away match against Portsmouth in the FA Cup third round on 11 Jan, followed by a trip to Chelsea for the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final on 15 Jan.
