The former Scotland international midfielder, now working in the club's academy and temporarily in charge for two matches, admitted he himself was surprised to be given this chance in the first place.
"Honestly, I was even surprised to be asked to manage the team for two games because it wasn't on my radar at all," Fletcher said.
"I always focus on the task in front of me, but when the opportunity came, I knew I could handle it and felt comfortable with it."
When asked by the media whether his over five years of behind-the-scenes experience and deep understanding of the club make him a suitable candidate to manage the team until the end of the season, Fletcher calmly replied that his focus remains limited to the short term.
"It's just two games, and that's all I'm focusing on right now."

Fletcher acknowledged that even a few days as manager gave him insight into the intensity of the role and made him carefully consider life timing, including family and personal readiness.
"I've been preparing myself to be a manager for a long time, and if one day that opportunity comes, I will be ready."
