On 12 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Luis Enrique, head coach of Paris Saint-Germain, gave a recent interview following reports that he would not renew his contract with the Ligue 1 giants before the French Cup round of 32 match at home against city rivals Paris FC, scheduled tonight at 03:10 GMT+7.
Earlier reports indicated that Luis Enrique plans to leave PSG this summer to seek a new challenge, despite having a contract until June 2027, sparking interest from top European clubs such as Liverpool and Manchester United.
Additionally, Ousmane Dembélé, the dynamic forward and recipient of both the 2025 Ballon d'Or and FIFA Best Award 2025, is also rumored to have declined a contract extension with PSG, with his current deal running through 2028.
Most recently, Luis Enrique addressed the issue personally for the first time, saying, "These rumors keep swirling around PSG. We're used to it. It's a private matter and will remain so."
"There are many false reports. You (the media) might think that distracting players and the team is important, but that won't happen. Negotiations are normal but remain private. We know what we want, and that is what matters most."
