Man Utd Makes Move, Submits Offer for First New Signing Worth Nearly One Billion Baht

"The Red Devils," Manchester United, are reported to have submitted an offer to sign their first new player in the January transfer market.

Teamtalk, a well-known football media outlet, reported that "The Red Devils," Manchester United, the Premier League giant, have officially put forward an initial offer of €23 million (approximately 839 million baht) to acquire Ruben Neves, the Portuguese international midfielder from Al Hilal, a club in the Saudi Arabian league, to join Old Trafford.

Since United's primary midfield targets—Carlos Baleba of Brighton, Elliot Anderson of Forest, and Adam Worton of Crystal Palace—have yet to be secured, Manchester United is looking beyond the Premier League for players they can realistically sign this month.

They see 28-year-old Neves as a suitable option because, despite playing in the Saudi league, he has Premier League experience with the Wolves. This prompted United's sporting director Jason Wilcox to quickly submit the initial offer to persuade Al Hilal to release the skilled midfielder to the Theatre of Dreams.

Reports also add that Al Hilal is seriously considering Manchester United's offer, as they want to avoid losing Neves on a free transfer when his contract expires this summer.

If this deal goes through, Neves will become the first signing of the Red Devils under caretaker manager Michael Carrick.
