Shock Deal: Liverpool Set to Sign World Cup Runner-up Midfielder for €80 Million

Liverpool, known as the "Reds," are reportedly targeting this World Cup runner-up midfielder to strengthen their squad, with a release clause set at €80 million.  They aim to secure his transfer.

Spanish media outlet Fichajes reported that Liverpool, the Premier League giants, are considering signing Eduardo Camavinga, the technically skilled midfielder and French national team member who was a runner-up at the 2022 World Cup, currently playing for Real Madrid, known as "Los Blancos," to join Anfield.

Camavinga is an important player for Real Madrid but has not secured a regular starting spot in La Liga. This season, he has scored 2 goals and made 1 assist in 21 appearances across all competitions for Real Madrid.

Latest reports indicate Liverpool are closely monitoring Camavinga's situation at Real Madrid and are ready to make an offer to persuade the club to sell him during the winter transfer window. However, negotiations are complicated because his release clause is believed to be around €70-80 million. Currently, Camavinga's contract with Real Madrid runs until 2029.

Judging by his personal stats, spending that amount could be worthwhile for Liverpool. It was revealed that Camavinga controls the midfield effectively, recording 27 tackles, 12 blocks, 4 interceptions, and 10 clearances in La Liga. He also maintains a passing accuracy of 92.4% in league play.

The report added that Liverpool sees Camavinga as a player who can raise the quality of their midfield and is good enough to compete for a starting position at Anfield. Additionally, he can play as a defensive midfielder or left-back if needed.

It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will activate his release clause or negotiate with Real Madrid's management to lower the fee. At 23 years old, Camavinga is in his peak development phase, making this a highly interesting potential signing for Liverpool.
