Erling Haaland expressed frustration over Manchester City's humiliating defeat to Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Champions League.
On 21 Jan 2026 GMT+7, after Manchester City, known as the 'Sky Blues,' suffered a 1-3 away loss to Bodo/Glimt in the 7th match of the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League group stage, star striker Erling Haaland commented that the game was extremely shameful, losing to an underdog team from Norway.
"I honestly have no answer. I take full responsibility for not scoring the goals I should have," Haaland said.
"I want to apologize to everyone, especially the Manchester City fans who made the effort to come and support us today, because ultimately this is very embarrassing."
Haaland concluded, "Bodo played excellent football, and in the end, they deserved to win. To be honest, I don't know what else to say because I have no answers. The only thing I can say is sorry."
Currently, the Sky Blues have won only 2 of their last 7 matches in all competitions. In the UEFA Champions League, they are ranked 7th, risking falling out of the top 8 spots that guarantee automatic qualification to the next round.
