
Several teams have been eliminated as the "Supercomputer" predicts the latest UCL favorites after matchday 7, with two teams securing advancement.
On 22 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Opta, a leading football statistics expert, revealed the latest predictions for the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League title favorites after all 36 teams completed matchday 7 of the group stage.
The current UEFA Champions League group stage standings show two teams have automatically secured places in the round of 16 as follows.
1. Arsenal 21 points *qualified
2. Bayern Munich 18 points *qualified
3. Real Madrid 15 points (Goals For 19, Against 8)
4. Liverpool 15 points (Goals For 14, Against 8)
5. Tottenham Hotspur 14 points
6. Paris Saint-Germain 13 points (Goals For 20, Against 10)
7. Newcastle United 13 points (Goals For 16, Against 6)
8. Chelsea 13 points (Goals For 14, Against 8)
Opta's supercomputer still ranks Arsenal as the top favorite to win the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League, increasing their chances to 30.75% after winning all 7 matches while conceding only 2 goals. Most recently, they won 3-1 away at Inter Milan. Following them is second favorite Bayern Munich, who, despite playing with 10 men, beat Union Saint-Gilloise 2-0.
Meanwhile, defending champions Paris Saint-Germain have dropped to sixth favorite after losing 1-2 away to Sporting Lisbon. Liverpool has risen to fourth favorite after a 3-0 away win against Olympique Marseille. Manchester City remains third favorite despite their 1-3 defeat to Bodø/Glimt.
