Reports indicate that Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portugal national team striker, may retire from football after the end of next season.
On 23 Jan 2026 GMT+7, it was reported that Cristiano Ronaldo, captain and striker of Portugal's national team and player for Al Nassr, might leave the club after the 2026/27 season, coinciding with the expiration of his contract. He had extended his contract in summer 2025, earning a high salary of 400 million euros per year (about 15 billion baht), according to Ben Jacobs.
The report also added that Ronaldo might announce his retirement from football, which, if it happens, would be major news in the football world immediately.
Currently, Ronaldo is about to turn 41 on 5 Feb 2026 and has an important event ahead: the 2026 World Cup hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada. He aims to lead his team to success after previously winning the UEFA Euro 2016 championship.
In the 2025/26 season, Ronaldo played 20 matches for Al Nassr, scoring 17 goals and providing 3 assists.
