Bournemouth Coach Speaks Candidly After Stunning Liverpool with Last-Minute Winner

Andoni Iraola, Bournemouth's coach, shared his thoughts after leading the team to a win over Liverpool in the latest Premier League match.

Andoni Iraola, manager of "The Cherries" Bournemouth, stated that their 3-2 home victory over Liverpool in the recent English Premier League match was a very important win given the team's need for points to avoid relegation.

At the Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth took a 2-0 lead before Liverpool equalized at 2-2, but ultimately Ameen Adli became the hero by scoring the winning goal in the 90+5th minute, securing a 3-2 victory. This brought Bournemouth's total to 30 points, 10 points above the relegation zone.

Iraola said, "This is a crucial win for us because we have been in a difficult situation, especially last week regarding the number of players and defensive personnel."

"We are finding ways to earn points against strong opponents. I am proud of the team and what we are doing. We are adapting and collecting points well."

Regarding Liverpool’s goal just before halftime, he said, "That was a moment you don’t want to concede a goal. We wanted to go into the dressing room leading 2-0. It was a good goal from Van Dijk and we knew we had to work hard against everything they did. We conceded two goals from set pieces, but after being equalized at 2-2, we started playing better and felt we had nothing to lose."

When asked if he thought the game was not open, Iraola responded, "No, I think this was a game between Liverpool and Bournemouth, and it was an open game."

"I believe this is the win we needed. Now we have 30 points, we need points, and we need them as soon as possible. We are still in a relegation battle, so we have to keep fighting and collecting points."
